Quilt foot 6 mm Pfaff

A quilt is formed by two layers of fabric, the top and the bottom, with a layer of padding in the middle. To form the top of the quilt you can join various pieces of fabric forming different patterns. The 6 mm quilt foot is particularly suitable for joining the pieces of fabric for quilts. The distance between the needle and the outer edge of the foot is 6 mm and the distance between the needle and the inner edge of the foot is 3 mm.

Utilization

Straight stitch seam

1. Insert the 6 mm quilt foot.

2. Graft the IDT if present on your sewing machine. Sew the pieces of fabric with the straight stitch. When using the 6 mm seam margin guide the fabric along the outer edge of the foot. When you want a 3 mm margin use the inner edge of the foot.

Quilting with "hand" effect:

1. Insert the 6 mm quilt foot. Use an invisible thread on top and in the reel use a normal sewing thread of the color you want to get the seam with "hand" effect. Use the triple straight point. Top wire setting: 7 - 9.

2. Loosen the tension of the coil: rotate by about 1/4. We recommend the use of a second shuttle. When you want to sew on the layers of a quilt, only the triple point of the thread of the reel is visible. The intermediate stitch disappears (because it is made with invisible thread) thus providing the seam with the appearance of those sewn by hand. It adjusts the tension of the top wire just enough to achieve the desired effect.
