Ribbing foot 5 scales

This ribbed foot, with 5 grooves, can be easily used on cotton fabrics, light wool or heavy fabrics. Together with the double needle you can create ribs to add a nostalgic touch to sheets, pillows, blouses or children's clothes.

Usage :

1. Insert the rib foot

2. Insert the double needle

- 5-grooves: 2.0 - 3.0 double needle

- 7-grooves: 1.8 - 2.0 double needle

- 9- grooves: 1.8 - 2.0 double needle.

3. Thread the double needle (see threading instruction manual).

4. With an evanescent pen draw the positioning line for the first rib.

5. Sew the first rib. When you start the second rib, make sure that the first one runs parallel to the groove of the foot. This will produce regular spacing between the ribs.

Tip: if you want to increase the effect of the ribs you can apply the rib tab (special accessory) on the front of the needle plate. The ribbing tongue pre-forms the fabric by lifting it to obtain a higher rib before sewing it. The result is an even more defined rib.
