With the HUSQVARNA VIKING® ribbon foot set it is easy to create beautiful decorations. Thanks to the three different feet you can use a variety of tapes (from 6 to 13.5 mm).

Ribbon feet: Sewing instructions.
- When sewing use a heat-transfer or tear stabilizer to make the fabric firmer. The amount of stabilizer needed varies according to the thickness of the fabric; Always try on a fabric cutout of the same type you want to use.
- Thread the machine with a wire matched to the tape.
- Select a straight point (other stitches may damage the feet and/or break the needle).
- Choose the 1, 2 or 3 ribbon foot according to the width of the tape. The results will be optimal if the tape fills the slot of the foot, but it will slide without difficulty. We suggest using tapes of uniform thickness.
- Thread the tape from the front, through the slot in the foot. Pull about 2 cm of tape behind the foot.
- Mount the foot on the machine.
- When sewing, place the tape over the shoulder or to the right of the machine. It is very important that the tape moves easily while sewing.
Freehand sewn with ribbons
For freehand sewing, the machine must be equipped with a special freehand function. This function is available for models in group 1&7.
- Prepare the machine as described on the left.
- Prepare the freehand sewing machine (see your user guide for instructions).
- When you start sewing, hold the end of the tape. Gently guide the cloth. Turn the fabric to change sewing direction.
Tips:
- Use "flat" and light ribbons, for example in organza (ribbons with a rougher weft may slide with difficulty in the feet).
- To obtain different effects you can create ribbons by cutting them, straight or biased, from a fabric.
- To perform curls or spirals, sew from the inside out.
