Description

The foot allows you to make pleats or curls on thin or medium thickness fabrics.

Adjustment of the pleating foot:

1. Remove the support/stem.

2. Replace the needle fixing screw with the longest screw supplied with the pleating foot.

3. Place the pleating foot on the machine holder/stem with the fork above the needle fixing screw.
Fix the pleating foot on the stem with the accessory fin screw.

4. Set the straight point.

5. Reduce the pressure of the foot if necessary.

6. The adjustment lever (J) adjusts the number of folds made by the pleating foot.
Set it to 1 for a fold at each point, to 6 for a fold every 6 points, and to 12 for a fold every 12 points.
Set it to 0 so as not to make folds; In the latter case, the pleating foot is disengaged and is normally sewn straight.

7. The adjustment screw(I) adjusts the pleating feet.
Do some tests on leftover fabric of the same type as the one that needs to be curled.
Turn the screw to the right to insert more fabric into the pleating foot and to the left to reduce the amount of fabric inside the fold.

8. Set the length to 2.5 - 3. Do some styling with other lengths, as the length of the stitch also affects the amount of fabric that is inserted into the fold.
The shorter the point, the smaller the distance between the folds. The width should always be 0 for the straight point.

Execution:

1. Place the fabric that needs to be curled into the grooves of the guide (G), then between the two black blades of the pleating foot (E and F) behind the tip of the needle.

2. Lower your foot and sew at a constant medium speed.

To create pleats and stitches on flat fabric in a single operation:

1. Place the flat fabric with the right under the pleating foot.

2. Place the fabric that needs to be pleated straight down into the groove and between the guide blades as in step 1 above.

3. Seize. The flat tissue is displaced by the teeth of the jaws while the upper fabric is pleated and fixed to it.
