This bias tape accessory is perfect for attaching bias tape even for a quilt. The Pfaff Quilt binder has a large opening to accommodate the quilt layers and creates a final binding size of 1/2".
The Pfaff quilt binder comes with a dedicated presser foot for use with IDT Pfaff (Integrated Double Feed) which also ensures power through the binder. and guarantees a perfect result.
The Double Fold 1/2" (12 mm) binder turns a lightweight woven strip of fabric into a binding and connects it to the edges of your project, all in one step.
To bias with the 1/2" (12 mm) Quilt Binder, cut a 1" (45 mm) wide strip of fabric.
- 1. Attach the quilting foot with the guide.
- 2. Set the machine to quilt stitch or quilt stitch by hand.
- 3. Place the attachment plate on the machine's fixing plate. Align the pin on the back of the attachment plate with the top opening on the machine plate. Screw the supplied plate into place with a thumbscrew (supplied).
- 4. Place the Quilt Binder on the needle plate and adjust the binder to align it. Attach the Quilt Binder in place with the two screws and washers.
- 5. Measure the length of your project and add at least 6" (15 cm) of fabric.
- 6. Cut enough 45mm strips with the same number and join the strips. Cut the end of the strip in one spot.
- 7. Slide the fabric strip into the binder with the wrong side facing up using tweezers.
- 8. When the fabric crosses the end of the binder, hold the folded strip with your left hand and continue feeding it into the binder as shown while the fabric forms a double-fold ribbon.
- 9. Lift the presser foot and pull the strip under the presser foot back 2.5" (5-6 cm) behind the needle.
- 10. Slide the fabric upwards into the slot of the binder. Adjust the stitch position to the right or left to reach the desired needle position.

1. Fold and pinch the slanted top corner. Repeat in the same way on the back of the quilt.
2. To continue sewing the binding, pull the strip of fabric through the binder and at the same time place the quilt, presser foot, and back into the binder.
3. To ensure that the crease is correct on both sides and back, pull the quilt back and forth a few more times.
