Utilization:

Thin zipper (hidden on both sides):

• Overlap all seam allowances. Join the fabrics right sides facing with a standard stitch up to the zipper insertion point.

• Baste the zipper, centering the teeth along the basted seam line and with the zipper slider sticking out past the end of the garment allowance.
• Insert the zipper foot.
• Place the zipper foot allowance next to the zipper teeth and move the needle about 6-10 mm from the center seam line. Sew along both sides and at the bottom of the zipper with the straight stitch.
• Remove the basting stitches.

Visible zipper:

Visible zippers are the ones most found on clothing. Before sewing the zipper, a reinforcement is applied to the opening.

• Cut a strip of fabric 3 cm wider and 2 cm longer than the zipper.
• It goes over the edges of the reinforcement strip.
