In Japanese, the word JANOME (pronounced Ja-NO-me) means "the eye of the snake." The company acquired this name in 1920 (it is therefore not strictly related to the acquisition of the American New Home) when the founder Yosaku Ose, a pioneer in the Japanese manufacturing industry, introduced the use of the circular metal fuse to replace the traditional system. The inventor Yosaku Ose saw in the new circular crochet a "snake's eye". Note. Of course, from then on the snake eye became increasingly important. The company now has plants in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The company is also becoming a leader in high-precision robots. In 1979, Janome technology introduced the first programmable computerized sewing machine, the Memory 7.
