Invisible hem:
- Prepare the serger for the desired stitch.
- Insert the blind hem foot.
- Fold and iron the hem in place. Turn the hem on itself towards the right side of the fabric. Leave 6 mm of hem exposed (follow the illustration).
- Place the hem under the presser foot, with the fold against the presser foot guide.
- Loosen the guide screw to adjust it so that the needle only grips the crease thread.
- Guide the fabric as you sew, making sure that the fold is always snug against the guide.
- Open the fabric and gently iron the wrong side.
- Before you start your project, test on a scrap of fabric.
Lace:
- Prepare the serger for the desired stitch.
- Insert the blind hem foot.
- Place the wrong side of the lace on the right side of the fabric.
- Place lace and fabric under the presser foot so that the fabric remains to the right of the rail. The top edge of the lace will be on the left side of the rail.
- Loosen the guide screw to adjust it so that the needle only grips the top edge of the lace.
- Guide the fabric as you sew, making sure that the fold is always snug against the guide.
- When you're done, open and flatten the lace. Fold the seam allowance behind the fabric and iron.
- If using lace insertion, repeat on the other side of the lace.
