Drawstring foot

Apply the drawstring between the seams and edges for a custom finish. To get a special drawstring wrap it in a fabric you like. Straight stitch, length 2.5

• Apply the presser foot. To insert the drawstring directly into a seam
• Place the drawstring along the seam line on the right side of the fabric.
• Place a second piece of fabric on top keeping the straight sides together.
• Place the layers of fabric and cord under the cord foot, with the cord in the groove on the underside of the presser foot. Sew.
• The groove on the underside of the presser foot guides the drawstring as you sew.

(Tip: Secure the seam allowance well along the curves and corners of the seam.)

To make a cord from your fabric:

• Cut a strip on the bias or reverse thread, wide enough to cover the drawstring and seam allowance.
• Place the drawstring on the wrong side of the fabric strip and wrap the fabric around the drawstring.
• Place fabric and drawstring under the drawstring foot with the drawstring in the groove on the bottom of the presser foot.
• Sew. The groove guides the drawstring so that the fabric covers it evenly.

(Tip: When applying a drawstring to a garment, bring the needle of a snap close to the drawstring, so that the first stitch is covered.)
