The elastic presser foot guides and stretches the narrow (6-12 mm) elastic bands as you sew them onto the fabric. It is perfect for sportswear, lingerie and other techniques for inserting elastic bands.
- Prepare the serger for the desired stitch.
- Loosen the screw on the front of the foot to apply rubber bands to reduce tension on the roller. Insert the elastic band into the presser foot.
- Fit the presser foot and pull the elastic until it reaches behind the presser foot.
- Tighten the tensioning screw to tighten the elastic.
- Turn the handwheel over to sew a few stitches and secure the elastic.
- Place the fabric under the presser foot and sew the elastic and fabric together.
- Check the spot and adjust the tension if necessary.
Note: To adjust the strap tension:
- Turn the tensioning screw to the right to increase tension
- Turn it to the left to loosen it.
- Be careful not to pull the fabric while sewing.
