The seams of the 9 mm riveting foot, like the typical denim seams, are extremely durable and widespread. The seams of the 9 mm riveting foot are often used on household furnishings. They add a decorative touch when using a contrasting color thread to sew them. The best results will be obtained on medium-heavy weight fabrics.

Method One:

• Insert the 9 mm riveting foot.
• Place the wrong sides of the fabrics against each other and overlap the unfinished edges using the red markings on the presser foot as a guide. The bottom fabric should follow the mark on the right side of the presser foot, and the top fabric should follow the red mark on the front right side.
• Note: This will result in a double row of dots on the right side of the garment. If you want a single row of stitches on the garment, sew the right sides of the fabric together.
• Sew the fabric together with a straight stitch
• Iron the seam allowance on the left
• Use the guides on the front of the driving foot to fold the wider seam allowance around the narrower seam allowance. Sew in place with a straight stitch.

Method Two:

• If you have a 15 mm (5/8") seam allowance included in the design, use the outer right markings on the riveting foot as a guide for both layers.
• Cut 6 mm from the top seam allowance. Then, continue with step 4.
